Tulsa Time

This weekend Matthew and I had the opportunity to get away for a quick trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma for a Thomas Rhett concert. Although it’s just a short drive up the interstate, this was the first time Matthew and I visited Oklahoma together, so we were excited to check it off our list of states to visit. We have a long way to go, but hope one day to see all 50 states. Thomas Rhett put on one amazing show and his openers Conner Smith and Parker McCollum did not disappoint! Matt is not much for concerts, but I was so excited to finally get him to a concert with me. I’m already working on getting him to another one…lol! Traveling and “adventuring” is our favorite and this weekend was definitely one for the books. I should also say thanks to my parents for caring for our dogs while we were away. It is so much easier to relax when I know they are well taken care of. Here are a few pictures Matthew took.

Until next time,

LeAnne

We have Lady, our 12 year old Pekingese/Pomeranian mix; Maisie, our 7 year old Scottish Terrier; and Dolly, our 3 month old Goldendoodle. Keep following our blog for more on each of them! Our desire through this blog is that our heart for adoption will shine as you read and follow our journey. Our adoption journey could not be described any better than an expedition, navigating many ups and downs, twist and turns over the past three plus years. We invite you to join us for the ride! Please leave comments, questions, anything you would like— just be nice :)

Puppy Love

Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love animals and that I am just slightly obsessed with our dogs! Here is just a little about each of our fur babies. Lady is our oldest at almost 13 and is a Pekingese/Pomeranian mix. Lady will always have a special place in my heart, not only because of her gentle manner and fun spirit, but because of the way she came into our family. I had just graduated with my associates degree and moved back home when we had to travel to Missouri for our extended family Christmas. Once we reached our destination we had to make a Walmart run in order to purchase the supplies needed for the party. As we entered the Walmart parking lot, I was immediately drawn to a small litter of puppies for sale. I somehow convinced my dad to pull over so I could "just play with them." When I entered the pin that the puppies were secured in, Lady left her litter mates and ran straight to me!! She stole my heart right then and there. After some begging and pleading, my...

Family

(LeAnne's Family-Christmas 2021)  Family is a large part of our lives and a huge reason we continue on our adoption journey. Our biggest desire in adopting and growing our family is giving a child the love of family we were both blessed to experience. Growing up in a large family definitely had its challenges, but I would not change it for the world. Even though we all have busy lives, we make getting together a priority. I have especially enjoyed watching our nieces and nephews grow over the years and how close they have all become. My youngest sister has even started a tradition of hosting "cousins camp" each Summer. The past couple Summers all 17 kids, ages 18 to 4, spend a few days at her h...
